Hey, Monday, where did you come from?!

I didn’t post on Friday because I misjudged how I’d want to spend my afternoon. Hubby and I went to a memorial service for the wife of a friend, who’d passed super suddenly last week.

My weekend was spent sort of just hanging out with my hubby, and that was nice. It’s not something that we get a whole lot of time to do lately, so we tend to grab it up when we can. 🙂

My big goal this week is to work on yard maintenance. 🙂 My backyard looks like hell, and I figure it’ll be a good way to be active and outside. 🙂 Other than that, though, this is a week full of work-It’s a good thing I love my job. *grin*

Oh! And Friday Hobby Lobby opens up in my town. I can’t express how excited I actually am about that. *laugh*

Life and things

I am posting in my afternoon because this morning was full of meetings and dentist appointments and things.  It was a very odd weekend. I got my walking in today, at Walmart. That place makes me cry for mankind.

Also, I saw Duck Dynasty plushies and I pondered to my husband that someone could easily make voodoo dolls out of these things.  He said, “No.” and gently lead me away…How odd. *snicker*

This week, as the weather gets better *crosses fingers*, I want to be doing more things outside-checking out the yard, the outside benches and chairs and things. And I want to get started walking again outside.  There’s still a LOT of snow, and so many people didn’t bother shoveling their walks all winter, so it may be modified to places I can walk in the road if I need to. *grin*

Now, though, I’m gonna go hang with the hubby, who is home today. 😀

Hey, look, it’s Monday!

I changed the look of the blog again-I’m pretty happy with this one as it’s simple, and won’t sit there and look silly if I don’t get a header made for it. *grin*

Today is going to be a relatively short post about this week’s goals.  I’m back to taking baby steps. 😐

The first thing is that I’m going to blog every day this week (Well, Mon-Friday *grin*), even if it’s little things, I need to get that habit back.  I miss blogging-it helps my brain, and it’s wonderful to hear from others as well.

Next on my list is that I’m going to make sure I walk 30 minutes a day-even if it’s just from my front door to my back door for half an hour.  I’m kinda tired of feeling like crap.  I wish I could adequately explain how much this winter has kicked my ass, in terms of wanting to do anything that involves getting off my couch.

The last must do this week is that I’m getting back to tracking everything that goes into my mouth. I’ve gotten lazy about it, and I’ve seen this morning that I’ve lost some ground in terms of weight loss.

So, in short, this week is about feeling better, in all ways.

Whew. :D

All the Christmas hubbub is done around here for the year.  And families are an interesting thing, but that’s a blog post for another time. *grin*

I’ve had a really rocking couple of weeks, all things considered. I didn’t weigh myself last Monday because *sharkweek*, and this morning, I weighed a pound more than I did two weeks ago.  I found this a little shocking because I have been eating ALL THE FOOD. *grin*

I was pretty mindful, but I also wasn’t going to let it be this big overbearing issue.

I think the biggest “win”, though, was that I woke up this morning and, instead of being all, “Time to get your shit together and stop screwing up.”, I was, “Whew. That was great, now let’s get back to normal.”

This is kind of a revelation for me. I don’t feel morally bad at all.  My gut, on the other hand, is thankful that things are getting back to normal.

And to think, I spent every day feeling that shitty. Man. Kinda nice, then, to be reminded why I’m doing this.

It’s also nice to be back to the blog. I thought I was needing to slow down posting, but I missed it over the holiday, so I’ll be rethinking that. It does ME a lot of good to have somewhere to 1)be accountable, and 2) process through things rather than driving everyone around me nuts. 😀

That’s it for this update, I’ll be around tomorrow with an actual post, and I look forward to 2014. 😀

Things and Stuff

My weekend was full of snow. 🙂 We apparently got about 8 inches of snow, so it was definitely a weekend spend in cozy company with my family. I tried to convince my husband yesterday, that we needed to build a shed out of snow, but he wasn’t having any of it. 🙂

The better part of this past week was filled with odd bouts of binginess.  Once I figured out what I was stressing about (Yay, holidays! I love them, but I stress about parts of my family, etc. You know, pretty much like everyone else 😀 ), it was easier to control and I still lost 2 lbs, according to the scale. 🙂

I know that I am going to be so prone to overeat and to eat like crap over the next two weeks, and I know that it gets worse for me when I add stress and emotional baggage to it, so while I will obviously be making the effort to eat relatively sensibly, I’m not going to beat myself up.  I am, however, going to give myself a couple “absolutes”, if you will.

Firstly, I *will* drink ALL THE WATER. Keeping hydrated will be my number one goal.  I will do one physical thing every day, even if it’s only 10 minutes of going up and down my stairs.  And I will do my best to be mellow and ENJOY the holidays. 🙂

Also, this week and next, I’m going to try a different posting schedule.  I’m going to see how posting Monday, Wednesday, Friday works for the holidays and we’ll go from there.

It looks like we’re going to get another several inches of snow this evening, so I am off to maybe bake some bread or something. 😀 Have a great day everyone!


PS. The Christmas theme already drove me nuts. So bear with me if the theme changes a couple more times before I settle on one that works. 😀

We have snow!

I love snow! I feel very like a little kid every year the first time I wake up to a world covered in white. 🙂  I freely admit that I will be less thrilled at the idea of snow in February, but for now, I love it. 🙂

As it’s the Day of Scale, let’s get that out of the way-Lost another pound. 🙂  I did have a minute of wishing it had been 5 pounds (haha), but I’m super happy. I really feel like things are moving and that’s the best feeling. 🙂

My busy weekend was, indeed, busy, so I’m pretty thankful that today, I get to work from home. *grin*

I have a post I’m working on about something I read this weekend on the /r/loseit subreddit at reddit.com.  The community there is actually pretty alright (especially given the utterly terrifying nature of some of the subreddits there), and it’s good for support, although you get a lot of people with a lot of interesting ideas on what constitutes healthy. 😀

I do hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and I hope that everyone is looking forward to a wonderful week as well. 😀

It was a long and lovely weekend

Got up this morning and weighed, as I do every monday-And I’m down another 3 pounds, which just makes me feel like there’s good forward motion. 🙂  I mean, I lost 3 pounds the week of Thanksgiving, for crying out loud. How awesome is that? 😀

The weekend was really pretty nice, although I woke up yesterday with a bit of a sore throat, and this morning, it’s a pretty full on bit of cold, I think.  Good thing today is a mellow day. *grin*

I don’t have a whole lot to report this morning, but I have a couple things I want to talk about this week so the rest of week won’t be so boring. *grin*
